Every January growing up, right as we went back to school, we were given a Monday off to honor the great Dr. Martin Luther King. It was a day devoted to Sunday night sleepovers (which never happened in our household on school nights) and sleeping in late. During college it was devoted to a long weekend preparing for rush and sorority pledge week. Flash forward 10 years and working a full time job - and it is barely considered a holiday. It made me question why we have this holiday. Why is it printed on every calendar yet all I was really taught about the man was the fact that he gave a speech with the infamous words “I have a dream”.
President Obama gave his Farewell Speech on Tuesday night as he closes out his tenure as President of the United States.

The Arkansas Federation of Young Republicans and the Central Arkansas Young Republicans invite you to participate in a Day at the Capitol. This full day of activities will provide Young Republicans from around the state with the opportunity to visit the state capitol in Little Rock and get an insider’s look into the political process while networking with state Republican leaders. It is free to all and even if you are only considering joining the YRs, you are welcome to attend!
While the Day at the Capitol is a free event, participants will be responsible for
purchasing their own lunch in the Capitol Cafe. Dress is business attire (coat and tie required).
